Raynor Winn
Raynor Winn (1963) had an unexpected success with her debut Het zoutpad (Uitgeverij Balans, 2018). Soon after Raynor Winn and her husband Moth went bankrupt due to a bad investment, lost their home and were forced to live on the streets, they learned that Moth was also terminally ill. So they decided to walk the Salt Path: a trail stretching for more than 1,000 kilometres along the coast of Cornwall and Devon. The novel Winn wrote based on the experience was on the short list for the Wainwright Prize and the Costa Book Award, and became a global success. In 2020, she published the sequel, De wilde stilte (Uitgeverij Balans), in which Winn told how their story continued.
