ILFU Members price: € 16,00

Price livestream: €5,00

YALFU 2021 is on and will be YALFU the way you know it! We’ve invited some of the best domestic and international Young Adult-writers, all authors will sign books afterwards and there will be a small-scale YA market.

The 2021 YA-authors are, via livestream Angie Thomas (USA), and in person: Taran Matharu (UK), Christelle Dabos (FR), Ciara Smyth (IE), Emmelie Arents (BE) and Pamela Sharon (NL).

Samya Hafsaoui will interview American writer Angie Thomas in a livestream about her two new books Concrete Rose (De roos uit het beton, published by Moon, translated by Aimée Warmerdam) and Blackout (published by Best of YA, translated by Aimée Warmerdam and Margot Reesink). Angie Thomas is born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi, was a rapper as a teenager and is mostly known for her debut novel The Hate U Give (that was also made into a film).

Live on stage Samya talks with the British Taran Matharu (Conterder-series),  the Irish Ciara Smyth (The Falling in Love Montage), the Belgian Emmelie Arents (Woestijndief) and from the Netherlands Pamela Sharon (Wie ik gister was) and Lisa van Campenhout (𝘉𝘪𝘫𝘯𝘢 𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘵).

The French Christelle Dabos (Mirror Visistor Quartet-series) has canceled due to health problems.

The program is scheduled from 14:00 to approximately 16:00, afterwards there is time for signing at the book fair! The fair has stands from among others Letters & Lights, Romemade candles, Till and Dill and Another View.

Please note: although the interviews with international writers will be in English, talks with Dutch speaking authors (Emmelie Arents, Pamela Sharon) will most likely be in Dutch.
